Rezumat / Abstract
This contribution will map the spectrality of some erotic chimeras that magnetize Radu Stanca’s poetic and existential quest. Through the hermeneutics of some significant poems – such as Liliacul, Canossa, Ascuţitorul de cuţite, Lamentaţia poetului pentru iubita sa, Elegia, Baladă studenţească, Doti, etc. – the motif of the inaccessibility of the chimerical and spectral woman will be analyzed in depth. In some texts, we will also show that, at times, a reversal occurs between the feminine and the masculine polarities, as it is rather the masculinity that is configured by the poet as constantly inaccessible and chimerical – for example in Fata şi zmeul or in Pajul cu păr de aur. In many of Radu Stanca’s poems, Eros not only undergoes an idealization, but even a spectralization, since the chimeras that haunt these poems are not only inaccessible and evanescent as shadows, but even seem to turn into phantomatic visions. It is precisely this spectralization, pushed to its extreme consequences, that explains the profoundly thanatic character of Stanchian Eros.
